This week I was reviewing notes from events I attended last year and I was reminded of a video. It was the story of Derek Redman an Olympic Athlete. Derek overcame incredible odds and healing after what many thought was a career ending injury. The story line may be one we’ve heard in some form or another. I believe everyone has their story. We often don’t believe our story is worthy or whatever other limiting beliefs we may have of ourself. Yet there is something else about this particular story that struck me. I believe we all have that desire to be a HERO to be someone that overcame incredible odds. We want to be the Derek Redman. Someone who did what others didn’t think could be done.
I want to encourage you to watch Derek’s story in the short 5 min video below. For me the hero here was not Derek. I won’t give it away. And what I will leave you with is this thought, who are YOU a hero for? To be this kind of hero it requires you look inward in who do I need to be to be someone’s hero.
